Drawing inspiration from her own challenging reproductive journey encompassing loss, fertility treatments, and an unpredictable pregnancy and postpartum period, Riya recognized the gap left by traditional healthcare systems in tending to her holistic needs. Fueled by a need to self-advocate at every turn, often incurring high costs and a sense of isolation, she became resolute in driving change for others.
With more than 15 years of influential leadership in the healthcare technology sector, where she passionately advocated for enhanced patient experiences and access, Riya now applies her extensive expertise in digital health to bridge the gap for expert maternal care support, making it accessible to everyone regardless of socioeconomic limitations.
As a WOC-owned company, we are committed to addressing the systemic racism that has contributed to the poor maternal outcomes and health inequalities faced by BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) communities in the United States, particularly Black women who are 3-4 times more likely to die from pregnancy-related complications.
To create change and advocate for equitable access to maternal care, we partner with BIPOC-led organizations and community leaders, hire a diverse team of experts, and provide culturally-responsive and trauma-informed care to our clients. Our virtual doulas are trained to bridge the gap between marginalized communities and traditional healthcare systems, empower and educate individuals on their rights and options, and provide personalized support and resources throughout their journey to parenthood.
We recognize that our work is ongoing and we are committed to continually learning, growing, and evolving in our efforts to support the BIPOC community. By leveraging technology and a team of qualified professionals, we are working towards creating a more equitable and supportive maternal care journey for all.
